Shakti is originally from the UK and her sessions are currently conducted in English (although she aspires to one day being able to offer sessions in Swiss German!). She has also lived and worked in the Middle East.

In her previous practices in London and Dubai Shakti has worked with clients experiencing a wide range of issues  including: transition anxiety, stress & anger management, loss and grieving, low self-confidence, relationship difficulties, eating issues, phobias, smoking-cessation, compulsive behaviours, sexual dysfunction, insomnia, public speaking, active-hypnobirthing and goal-setting and achieving.

During her time in Dubai Shakti worked with members from both the local and expat community and was also frequently invited to work and travel across the Middle East including Sharjah, Qatar, Bahrain and Saudia Arabia, as a Guest Speaker, Coach, Counsellor & Trainer.

Shakti is a Lead Trainer for Paul Ekman International (PEI) delivering courses in Emotional Skills & Competencies and Evaluating Truthfulness & Credibility,
teaching participants from a wide range of sectors to identify micro-expressions and subtle visible and audible cues across the five channels of communication. Also in the corporate sector, Shakti leads team building & resilience programmes and well-being workshops and seminars.

Before qualifying as a counsellor and hypnotherapist, Shakti worked in a number of schools in the UK, leading workshops in dance and drama and working as a Learning Support Assistant. It was during this time that she began to understand how vital positive psychology and effective communication are in almost every facet of our lives: school, work, relationships, and our overall health and wellbeing.  And the earlier that children are given the opportunity to learn this from the people around them, the more likely they are to thrive and flourish as they grow.  Shakti was therefore thrilled to have the opportunity to

co-organise and facilitate the first ever 'Happy Kids, Happy You' workshop training in the Middle East; a programme based on author and educator, Sue Beever's,  book on effective communication with children and young people.  These courses have proven popular with both parents and educators.

Shakti's background is in the arts, training first at Elmhurst Ballet School and The Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts and then gaining her BA degree at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.  She has worked professionally as an actor, singer and dancer, as well as writing for a number of children's shows.  In her work in the education sector she taught a diverse range of people and groups, aged from 3 right the way through to 62 years! During this time Shakti also worked in schools with children and young people who were experiencing learning and/or emotional issues, helping to identify the individual student's needs and facilitating them in finding effective strategies so that they could begin to enjoy, and often thrive, in the school environment.

As part of her studies with the Essex Institue of Clinical Hypnosis, Shakti gained a distinction for her Diploma & Advanced Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy, Psychotherapy & Counselling Skills.  She is a trained Satir Family therapist, Society of NLP certified Coach and a member of the National Association for Cognitive-Behaviour Therapists.
