Coaching

What is coaching?

Coaching is a process in which you and the coach work together, collaboratively, creatively, and systematically, firstly to discover and clarify what it is that you want to achieve, and then to set about seeing those goals come to fruition.

At Transformations, we understand that you are the expert in your own life and work, and that our role, as your coach, is to facilitate you in accessing that self-knowledge, enabling you to achieve your goals.

Coaching enables you to unlock your potential in order to maximise your personal and professional development and performance.

Here are just some of the different types of coaching available:

  • Executive Leadership Coaching

  • Health, Lifestyle & Wellbeing Coaching

  • Personal, Relationship & Life Coaching

  • Academic, Educational & Career Coaching

  • Sports Performance Coaching

Is coaching appropriate for me?

Is there an aspect of your personal or professional life that you would like to change?  If the answer is, 'yes', then you can benefit from coaching.

Here are some further questions you can ask yourself in order to decide if coaching could help you:

  • Do you have something urgent coming up, an opportunity or an exciting challenge?
  • Are you currently lacking in confidence in one or more areas of your life, questioning your skills knowledge or resources?
  • Do you desire excelerated results?
  • Would you like to identify your core strengths and learn how best to leverage them?
  • Do you feel that your work and personal life are out of balance?
  • Are you experiencing a lack of clarity regarding how to move forward on a certain project or specific area of your life?

Coaching is designed to address all of these needs.  It may be that you already have a goal in mind that you would like to achieve but you're not sure what the first steps are, or how to go about taking them.  Coaching can be beneficial for any individual or team that want to take those first steps.

Here are some answers to frequently asked questions about coaching:

What is the difference between coaching and counselling?
Therapy and counselling involve resolving and healing conflict, dysfunction and pain.  These difficulties may have arisen due to the individual's past experiences or they surface as a result of the client's present circumstances. Resolving these difficulties can require revisiting the past in order to understand, heal and deal with those experiences, enabling the individual to move forward, healthily, into their present and future life. The process of counselling can improve the client's overall psychological functioning and emotional wellbeing.
Coaching also supports growth, both personal and professional, and so positive feelings are often also a natural outcome of the process.  The coaching client, however, is not generally looking to resolve emotional or psychological issues and dysfunctions.  Coaching clients are interested in improving key areas or aspects of their lives.

Elite athletes, for example, who may already be experiencing a certain level of success, often have a coach to help them improve on what they are already doing, empowering them to be at the very top of their game.  But it's not just athletes who can benefit from coaching, the coaching model can be applied to almost every aspect of your life, both business and personal.  The coach and client work collaboratively to identify the client's specific goals and to establish successful strategies for the client to implement in their everday life.

The coaching process enables you to minimise internal interference in order to drastically increase levels of productivity, output, performance, wellbeing and satisfaction.

N.B.  It is important to point out that on occasion, during the coaching,  process, sensitive emotional issues may arise.  At this point, if necessary, a professional coach will refer their client to a suitably qualified counsellor or therapist or, if they themselves have those qualifications and experience, they may agree to support the client therapeutically.  At Transformations Zurich we are able to offer the full range of services because our practitioner is fully qualified in coaching, counselling and hypnotherapy.
How many coaching sessions are necessary?

The duration of the coaching partnership varies depending on the needs and preferences of the individual client.  It depends on where the client is, where they want to go, and how quickly they want to get there.  Some people are able to achieve their goals
